Thread lift and its procedure

Compared to facelift surgery, thread lifting is a less invasive cosmetic procedure. By injecting medical-grade thread material into your face and then tightening the thread to "pull" your skin up, thread lifts contend to tighten your skin.

Age-related skin changes are a part of ageing. Over time, your skin starts to lose its elasticity and strength. Therefore the skin starts sagging and wrinkles appear. Your cartilage also becomes weaker and less able to support the skin around it as you age. As the skin and cartilage in your face change, you might notice sagging and looser skin.

The non-surgical Thread Lift procedure is the ideal way to improve facial contours and lift sagging skin around the eyebrow, neck, and jowl. There are two ways a thread lift functions. To pull your skin back or up, your doctor will first place temporary stitches under it. The area appears tighter as a result. The threads are textured filaments that hold your skin in a different position by grabbing the underside of your skin. Your face looks instantly lifted thanks to these threads.

Procedure

The treatment area is covered with local anaesthetic. The PDO or Cog thread will then be inserted into the required location using a cannula or micro-needle. Depending on the amount of treatment needed, the procedure lasts 45 to 60 minutes. You can immediately get back to your regular schedule and social obligations. When collagen binds to the thread, it will create an integrated support structure that will lift and tighten the skin.
